On Wednesday, June 18th, 2025, from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM (CET), a webinar will be held to present the services and trees ecosystem services modelling tools developed within the 100KTREEs project.
100KTREEs is a project co-funded by the European Commission under the Horizon Europe programme, aiming to support local authorities in making cities greener, healthier, and more resilient to the challenges posed by climate change.
The project has developed advanced mapping and modelling tools capable of assessing the impact of Nature-based Solutions (NbS), such as urban greening through tree planting. The 100KTREEs models estimate the benefits provided by trees in terms of air quality, water retention, heat island reduction, CO₂ sequestration, and can also serve as biodiversity indicators.
The project offers cities and local administrations services such as mapping and seasonal monitoring of urban tree cover, identification of new planting areas, and economic assessment of the benefits provided.
During the webinar, industry experts will showcase the practical application of these tools in real case studies across Europe and in sustainable urban planning projects.
The event is open to citizens, government agencies, policymakers, urban planners, professionals, researchers, investors, and anyone interested in exploring this topic and discovering innovative tools to optimize energy efficiency and support the transition toward more sustainable and greener cities.
