The summer course A Multidisciplinary Approach to Nature-based Solutions in Deltas will take place in Utrecht, the Netherlands, from August 25 to August 29, 2025. Organized as part of the Utrecht Summer School by Utrecht University in collaboration with the Delta Climate Center, the program will be conducted entirely in English. The participation fee is 375 euros.
This summer course offers an intensive and interdisciplinary learning experience designed for students, young professionals, and researchers interested in Nature-Based Solutions (NbS) as a response to environmental and climate challenges in delta regions. The program includes workshops, interactive lectures, and field excursions, led by experts from various disciplines such as environmental science, law, physical geography, urban planning, hydrology, data science, and climate adaptation.
Participants will explore innovative approaches related to urban ecological restoration, strengthening peatland resilience, developing sustainable green infrastructure, and managing flood risks in vulnerable areas. The goal is to equip attendees with theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and a collaborative mindset to effectively implement nature-based solutions in real-world contexts.
The course is led by Dr. Liping Dai. For more information and to register, please visit the official course page.
