The fifth meeting of the Naturescapes Collaboratory will take place online on Tuesday, July 1st, 2025, from 3:00 to 4:00 PM. The one-hour event is free of charge and offers an open space for dialogue within the framework of the international NATURESCAPES project, focusing on nature-based solutions (NbS) in coastal urban contexts. The session is organized in collaboration with local community partners involved in the project’s case study sites, who will share practical experiences related to the design, implementation, and maintenance of NbS in urban and coastal areas.

During the meeting, initiatives developed in three case study areas will be presented: Mobile, Alabama (United States), Dublin (Ireland), and Cagliari, Sardinia (Italy). Each presentation will highlight the challenges and outcomes of the approaches used in these local contexts, providing insights into the effectiveness and complexity of NbS in coastal cities. A Q&A session will follow, allowing direct dialogue between participants and speakers.

The NATURESCAPES project explores NbS from a landscape perspective, analyzing how they translate into practical actions and what impacts they have on both the environment and society. Promoted by a transdisciplinary consortium involving universities, research institutions, NGOs, and consultants, the project aims to identify innovative models capable of addressing environmental challenges, enhancing biodiversity, and generating transformative change at the territorial level.

This Collaboratory meeting is part of that effort, providing a space for learning and collaboration. For more information, please visit the official event page.
